The 3rd annual Lake Clean Up Day will be on May 2nd from 8am – 1pm at Battle Run. Lunch will be provided by Mrs. Boone if you do not bring your own. Also, volunteers who are 18 or older with a boating license can use their personal boat to go out on the lake and pick up trash. Some teachers will give their students extra credit opportunities for participating as well.
“The clean-up event brings about a hundred teenagers out annually on a Saturday. They aid in cleaning the lake, which gives back to the community that gives so much to them. While doing this, they learn to collaborate together and learn the importance of keeping the land clean. This encourages them to help keep it clean all along and makes it a friendlier and inviting community for everyone,” said coordinator Makayla Garcia.
