The Nicholas County Grizzlies boy’s basketball team now has a record of 2-10. The team defeated Midland Trail, 74-62 on January 10, but fell short against Oak Hill 57-67 and St. Albans 37-92.
On January 21 the Grizzlies faced Herbert Hoover. They lost to hoover 66-74 and also fell short to Braxton, 59-76, on Friday January 23. Sophomore, JV player, Hayden Morris says he has been making improvements on his defense for the upcoming games. Varsity player, Junior, Jordan McKinney explains that their goals for the next game are, “No individualism, work through the offense, and take time to get good shots.”

The Lady Grizzlies are currently 2-12. The girls lost 32-42 against Bridgeport on January 25, and 33-58 to Bluefield on Tuesday, January 28. Freshman Anastin Hornsby has been improving her offense for the games ahead. She explains, “Our goal is to run our plays and win.”
