On December 9, Nicholas County High School held a voter registration drive for seniors.
When asked if he was excited to register, senior Alex Freeman said, “I was! I really don’t have time to go to the courthouse, and I was glad that they came to the school.” He said the registering process was “pretty easy.” He added, “It’s empowering to be able to vote.” There were about 20 people in his class that were able to register to vote at the drive.
Mrs. Knight, NCHS counselor, stated, “They worked on the registration for two days. It is important to vote because its everyone’s civic duty.”
