“Young life is a Christian based organization that seems to be beneficial for the students,” said Nicholas County High School Vice Principal Mr. Jarvis. He also added, “To my knowledge, there is no specific religion; it is just centered around the Christian faith.”
“While it is a religion-based program, you do not necessarily have to be religious to be a member,” said sophomore Kaitlyn Deems. Mersadies Beam, a former member of Young Life explained, “Sometimes we would go on field trips or have campfires around the park.” She also added, “I attended a Halloween event last year; it was very fun. While I do not have as much time on my hands as I used to, it was fun to be a part of.”
Young Life is a lesser known organization at NCHS that many students can enjoy. Anyone interested in joining can go to the office for more details. It is a truly fun experience and is a good opportunity to have wholesome fun.
