The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, better known as the FAFSA, is a form future college students can complete to determine their eligibility for financial aid.
Filling out the FAFSA is such a crucial step for students that some schools have made completing it a high school graduation requirement. Completing the FAFSA can open the opportunity for you to receive federal grants, loans, and work-study funds. Nearly all students that apply for the FAFSA qualify for some form of federal financial aid, so it’s absolutely worth your time.
Although the FAFSA can be confusing for many students and their families to complete, especially for dependent students because they must provide their information AND their parents’ information, it gives you the chance to receive tons of free money from the U.S. Department of Education.
The FAFSA application can be filled out online or using the paper version. If you feel you need assistance filling out your application, there are workshops held here at Nicholas County High School to provide you with help. You can simply speak to the school counselors to schedule an appointment.
Completing the FAFSA is extremely important. Don’t wait; fill it out as soon as possible, so you can receive financial assistance for college!
