On March 25th, Mrs. Bennett’s Anatomy classes traveled to the West Virginia school of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, West Virginia.
Mrs. Bennett said, “The goal of the trip was to learn about the human body and to see the structures we talk about in class.”
The trip, chaperoned by Mrs. McClung and Mrs. Bennett, was a tour of a gross anatomy lab, and the students got to view specimens. The students received the opportunities to participate in group activities doing lab procedures.
“The trip is so important to the students because many of them plan to go into a medical field and this either reinforces that or lets them realize they wouldn’t enjoy it,” Mrs. Bennett said.
Galilea Villasenor, an anatomy student, said, “The trip was very fun and educational.” Her favorite part of the trip, the cadaver lab, further encouraged her to pursue her dream of a career in the medical field.
