On November 16, 2017, the cooks prepared an amazing Thanksgiving lunch for us. We had turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread stuffing, green beans, a hot roll, apple crisp pie, pumpkin pie, sliced peaches, vegetables, and milk. We asked the cooks if it was hard cooking for more than 600 people and they said that it just takes time. There are six cooks in total, and they had three days to prepare the delicious meal. Our wonderful cooks are Kim Backus, Twilla Lykins, Lynn Gregory, Joani Prather, Joan Beam, Traci Smith, and Cathy Evans. The responses to the meal were positive.
The students were released ten minutes early from third period to go to AA. The seniors with PAWS bracelets went first, followed by the rest of the grades. After that, the rest of the seniors were released followed by other grades.
History teacher, Mr. Williams, stated that, “It was delicious, I loved it. The pumpkin pie was good.”
Seniors Breanna Christian and Issac Prather said, “I loved the apple pie and mashed potatoes.”
A gracious thank-you to all of our cooks for preparing this wonderful meal for all of the students and staff, and a Happy Thanksgiving to all!
